Hello, my name is Lynn Ourso and welcome to my web site. I named my company New Orleans Rare Coins for my interest in New Orleans minted coinage. However most assume I am from the City of New Orleans but in fact I live in the small Louisiana town of Addis which is located about 7 miles south of Baton Rouge on the west side of the Mississippi River.
As you know, coin collecting can get very expensive. So not to take from my family income, I started buying and selling coins and turning the profits into purchasing nice examples for my collection. At first I sold coins on eBay, then at shows. I now do at least 15 shows a year and having a blast traveling to buy and sell coins. I have met so many good people in this hobby/business that I now want to sell coins full time. In fact this is a goal that I have set for myself and it may be within my reach in a few years. This web site should also help with that.
I don’t own a shop. So to better serve my customers I wanted a web site. This is a perfect way to allow everyone to see what I have in inventory and to provide a want list service. You can also view my show schedule and hopefully stop by and view my inventory in person. I would enjoy meeting you all. I will still occasionally put some coins on eBay so do check my eBay Auction Items now and then.
I will primarily try to keep an inventory of mostly type coins from early US coinage (copper, gold, nickel and silver) through the Barber series with key and semi-key dates of the earlier 20th century coins (such as Walking Liberty halves, Standing Liberty quarters, Lincoln cents, and Mercury dimes). I will also try to keep a very good selection of Indian Cents and Buffalo Nickels, two of my favorite series. You will also see in my inventory Error Coins and Varieties which I fully enjoy.
Want lists are accepted and appreciated. Just let me know what you are looking for and I will try my best to locate it for you. Just email me your want list and I’ll get on it right away.
Thanks again for visiting my site and I hope you enjoyed it.
